The Pirates and Carinals wore them going forward.

See here: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3239/2603589541_62fefda284_b.jpg

1986 was indeed the last year the Pirates used the hats, changing them for the 1987 season.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5907429534018969897.post-82667230012850759172009-02-23T06:21:00.000-08:002009-02-23T06:21:00.000-08:00Thanks Mets Guy, I appreciate it.Thanks Mets Guy, I appreciate it.bloggerDKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13232304906227028763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5907429534018969897.post-60166759670700306622009-02-22T11:53:00.000-08:002009-02-22T11:53:00.000-08:00I have this card signed ttm by Bream. The Cardinals realized it looked stupid and quit it (if you want confirmation, look at a lot of their 1977 cards....if I remember right, there may have even been stripes on the batting helmets). The Pirates, however, carried this on for a while, I'm not sure how long, but it apparently went on until 1986.MMayeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09893007769493689849noreply@blogger.com
